What to do....

First type in your postcode for details of your local Federal MP.
You should then see your local member's name plus the following symbols.

Click on the envelope in the "App Link" column for your local member and it should open up an email ready to send to that politician. Give it a minute - it doesn't always appear instantly.

Ideally you should add a sentence at the top explaining why this issue matters to you i.e. "I have known families who have lost a son…" Feel free to edit the letter, making any changes you like.

Then add your name and address to the bottom - politicians are required to respond to people who give these details.

Plan B

If that magic doesn't work, click the envelope in the "Show Email Text" column and it will show you all the information to cut-and-paste into an email. Again, don't forget to add your name and address to the bottom of the email.

Note that there are multiple emails that contain similar information with different wording to make this more compelling for the politicians than a single pro-forma letter. If you send multiple emails, you may notice that the text varies.

We would love you to use that draft letter to send to the Senators for your area and ideally to Crossbench Senators as well.

If you are having problems with this system, please write to Paul at paul@lumient.com.au and explain what is going wrong. He will do his best to help you.

Most of all - thank you for your support
